Ulanzi AS-D30 30cm Octagonal Softbox for COB Video Lights
Choice!
The Ulanzi AS-D30 is a 30cm octagonal softbox designed specifically for portability and ease of use with smaller COB video lights. During my time testing this setup, I focused on how effectively it manages light diffusion while maintaining a lightweight form factor.
Performance & Build Quality
Constructed from high-quality reflective fabric, the AS-D30 feels durable enough to handle frequent folding and transport. The integration of both internal and external diffusers provides a soft, flattering light quality that is usually hard to achieve with such a compact modifier.
Day-to-Day Experience
The quick-pack design is the standout feature here, making setup and teardown almost instantaneous during rapid transitions. Its Mini Bowens Mount is snappy and secure, eliminating the frustration of fidgety mounting systems when you are trying to shoot quickly.
This softbox is perfect for vloggers and mobile creators who need a reliable, professional lighting solution that fits easily into a camera bag.
Final Thoughts
The Ulanzi AS-D30 earns its 4.86/5 rating by delivering consistent, high-quality results in a very convenient package. Given the $69.00 price tag, it is a smart investment for anyone looking to refine their lighting game without breaking the bank.
